There are tons of ways for you to make money. But for starters... do you have a computer? The internet is the cost effective, no fuss, global way for doing business today. Though you can naturally make money from the comforts of your home, you are not tied to being at home. As long as you have a computer and an internet connection, you can manage your business from any location.

That being said, you may be wondering what kind of business could you do to bring in extra money. Well it will be helpful for you to think about what your interests and talents are. May be list your interests and talents (it may also be a service or skill). Once you have your list, the next step is to see if there is a market for what you may have to offer; would other people be interested in what you have to offer. To find this out, you will have to do your research. Go online google what ever your interests or talents are and see if there is a demand.

Suppose you don't have any particular interests or talents or maybe when you researched you didn't find a big demand, and now you are wondering what you could do to make extra money at home. Well.....you might want to consider selling other companies' products and being paid a commission for everything you sell. This is a great way to generate extra income.

There are a number of companies that look for partners to help them market their products online. This relationship known as affiliate marketing offers two advantages, the first one- you won't have to concern yourself with physically housing products and the second advantage is you won't have to worry about the shipping. Finding affiliates is not difficult. Just go online and Google ' Affiliate Marketing
' and you'll find hundreds of companies to choose from. You may also find affiliate programs offering support to help you get started.

If you find that there is a demand for what you can offer, then you will want to come up with a name for your online business. Once you decide on a name you will have to register the name (now referred to as a 'domain name') for a website that you will need to set up. Again go online, google 'register domain name' and you will see a number of company names come up that handle domain registrations. Sometimes a domain name is popular and you may find that your desired name has already been taken, in that case you will be prompted to come up with another name.

The next step is for you to set up your website. There are a number of companies that design and host (maintain a website's presence on the internet) website for modest fee. Again, go on line and do your research. Lastly in order to make money you have to have traffic coming to your site. There are a number of online companies available to help you promote your business and drive traffic to your website. Again, you will need to do your research to determine what company would be best to help you.

What is a domain name?
A domain name is a Web address, such as godaddy.com, that is linked to an IP address (which represents a physical point on the Internet). When someone types a domain name into a Web browser, the requested Web page displays.

A domain name consists of a top-level and a second-level domain. A top-level domain (TLD) is the part of the domain name located to the right of the dot (godaddy.com). The most common top-level domains are .COM, .NET, and .ORG. Some other popular top-level domains are .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME and .WS. These TLDs have certain guidelines but are, for the most part, available to any registrant, anywhere in the world.

The part of the domain name located to the left of the dot — "godaddy," in this case — is called the second-level domain (SLD) name. The second-level domain name is the "readable" part of the address and refers to the organization or entity behind the Internet address. Second-level domain names must be registered with an Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)-accredited registrar.
